SCOTT LAKE LODGE IS ON THE EDGE OF THE LARGEST UNTOUCHED WILDERNESS AREA IN THE WORLD.
Scott Lake Lodge is a true fly-in fishing experience. Located on the border of the Northwest Territories and Saskatchewan, our main lodge sits only a stone’s throw from the 60th parallel.
No lodge in Canada offers the extent and variety of Scott’s fishing territory. With Scott Lake, its adjacent lakes and the flyout lakes used exclusively by Scott Lake Lodge, anglers coming to Scott have a half a million acres of productive water – more than a lifetime of fishing opportunities. Between us and the Arctic Ocean is nothing but lakes and empty country.
WHY CHOOSE SCOTT LAKE LODGE?
Unlike many lakes where you have to choose either good action or trophy size, Scott Lake offers both. It’s not uncommon here to land 50 to 100 fish a day for a single boat, and we’ve had more than a few with well over 100 fish in a day.

THE BEST GUIDES IN THE BUSINESS
Competent navigators (learning over a million acres of water isn’t easy), accomplished wilderness cooks, entertaining communicators, comfortable using complex GPS and fish locating equipment, infinitely patient and yes, fun to be with.
Our commitment at Scott is to provide every angler with a guide who will give 100% every hour of every day. It’s simply how we do things here.
SCOTT LAKE LODGE FISHING
THREE IS JUST THE RIGHT NUMBER
Unlike many lakes where you have to choose either good action or trophy size, Scott Lake offers both. It’s not uncommon here to land 50 to 100 fish a day for a single boat, and we’ve had more than a few with well over 100 fish in a day. Its not uncommon to get multiple trophies in a day. Fishing just doesn’t get much better anywhere in the world.
At Scott there are often five-day trips that produce as many huge fish as several other Canadian fishing lodges land in an entire season. At Scott you don’t have to spend hours getting to the fish. In fact, a number of the best lake trout spots on Scott Lake are within sight of the Lodge. We’ve had a 46″ trout and a 50″ pike caught within a 15 minute boat ride from our dock. With Scott and Premier lake (connected to Scott) you can fish 200,000 acres of private water and follow over 500 miles of shoreline. That is a lot of room to roam. Typically you will spend 6 to 8 hours actually fishing not cruising around the lake. Unlike many Canadian fishing lodges, there are no two-hour boat rides to get to the right spot. So, what are the fish that you will be catching on your Scott Lake Lodge fishing vacation? It’s a simple ecosystem in the far north. We offer just three gamefish, but with our size and numbers three is just the right number.
SCOTT LAKE LODGE ACCOMMODATIONS
You won’t find luxury like this at any other fishing lodge in the North. Our guests constantly remind themselves just how far from “civilization” they really are.
Even though the nearest paved road is 350 miles away, Scott Lake Lodge is an oasis of comfort in an extremely remote setting. Our private, rustically appointed cabins have everything you need to relax and feel completely at home in the middle of the wilderness.
Named after the native wildlife, each cabin’s decor is unique with its own personality. All are nestled among the spruce trees along a path of freshly cut wood chips, some down by the docks, others tucked back from the shore offering more privacy. All offer a lake view.
Each cabin is equipped with individual heating units that turn on with the touch of a button. Modern baths include showers and ecologically minded composting toilets. Luxurious bedding, robes, custom toiletries, turndown service and morning coffee delivery are all part of the daily routine on this remote island paradise.
GETTING TO SCOTT LAKE LODGE
WHERE IS SCOTT LAKE LODGE?
It’s really in the middle of nowhere which is what makes it special. Find a map and look for the 60th parallel. Then find the middle of Saskatchewan. Let those line intersect and you will be very close to Scott which should be named on almost any map you have access to. We are right on the border of Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories. You will probably fish mainly in NWT waters but you will have the option of going south into the very northern part of Saskatchewan. The border bisects Scott Lake. The lodge is 550 miles almost straight north of Saskatoon, the distance we fly you as part of your package price.
HOW DO I GET TO SASKATOON?
Our trips start in Saskatoon. You can reach Saskatoon with daily non-stop flights from Minneapolis on Delta. Most major Canadian also offer non-stop service into Saskatoon and have connections to major US cities. Our customer service office can help with information on commercial air travel. We do not provide booking services but we do work with an agency, TravelEx (800-882-0499) in a northern Chicago suburb, that can find the most efficient and least expensive flights to Saskatoon.
HOW BIG ARE THE PLANES I’LL BE ON AFTER SASKATOON?
Your charter flight from Saskatoon is on a Saab 340, a very comfortable commuter prop-jet. It has a bathroom and offers cabin service. Yes, that means free beer coming and going. This plane has a capacity of 40 people but to accommodate your gear and our fresh food we limit the flight to our lodge capacity of 24 guests. The flight from Saskatoon to Stony Rapids, Saskatchewan, our float base, is just under two hours. At Stony you will be taken less than a mile to the water base where you will board either an Otter or Beaver floatplane for a gloriously scenic flight to the lodge. The Otter flight is about 15 minutes; the Beaver flight about 25.
